Wisdom Teeth Removal

While we spend our adolescence straightening our teeth and defining good oral habits, wisdom teeth later start to grow in and threaten to destroy the beautiful smile we have established. When wisdom teeth start breaking through, there often is not enough room for them. Consequently, they start to shift in an effort to force their way into place, which causes alignment issues. More often than not, wisdom teeth need to be removed for the overall dental health of your mouth.

At Arbor Dental, we believe it is important to preserve your natural teeth with general dentistry as often as possible. We will always side with your natural teeth except when they threaten the state of your oral health. In cases where there is not enough room for your wisdom teeth, or they become impacted should they remain, we recommend removing them to preserve your smile.

A Gentle Approach

Our friendly staff always makes sure your comfort is a priority during any procedure you have at our office. When extracting your wisdom teeth, you will receive the same level of care for which our office is known. You can relax knowing you are in the knowledgeable, experienced hands of our team. Wisdom teeth are not necessary to complete a full smile, nor are they essential for chewing. Having them removed does not affect you in any way, except further promoting the existing health of your remaining teeth.

Removing your wisdom teeth is only an option we explore when it is absolutely necessary. We guarantee a gentle approach to the extraction, and we are with you every step of the way during recovery. After your wisdom teeth are removed, you may experience some bleeding and swelling which is completely normal and will subside after a few days. Within that time frame, it is best to avoid solid foods and hot beverages. Patients also need to delay brushing their teeth for at least 24 hours.
